GLENN BUTCHER co-founded The Castanet Club in 1982, appearing as the charismatic lead singer and front person, Lance Norton. He iswell known as Darren Purvis (son of Shirley) from ABC’s The Big Gig and for his extensive list of theatre, film and television credits. Most recently he appeared in The Goodbye Girl at Hayes Theatre Co. His many television credits include A Country Practice, The Money or the Gun, Fast Forward, Full Frontal (which won four Logies during his time on the show) Good News Week Nite Lite, White Collar Blue, Packed to the Rafters, Monster House, Playschool, the singing voice of B1 in Banana’s in Pyjamas and Kath and Kim. Previous stage productions include The Headbutt for Belvoir Street Theatre, Musical Director and Composer for The Coast Mongrels, The New Rocky Horror Show, The Venetian Twins and Follies at Sydney Opera House, Chicago, Singin’ in the Rain, The Convict’s Opera for STC directed by Max Stafford-Clark and the world premiere of Dusty. Since 2012 he has been tour manager for comedians Kitty Flanagan, Jason Alexander and Wayne Brady. Glenn has also appeared in feature films Young Einstein, Soft Fruit, Fat Pizza: The Movie and Kath and Kimderella.
