CYNDI LAUPER AND HARVEY FIERSTEIN RECEIVE STARS ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME
Herald Sun's Jackie Epstein reports in CONFIDENTIAL
Kinky Boots creators Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper have been honoured with stars on the Hollywood walk of Fame. Lauper, the award-winning pop icon, was recognised in the category of live recording, and Fierstein, the acclaimed gravel-voiced actor turned playwright, in the category of live performance.
Lauper, who will be in Melbourne in October for the opening night of Kinky Boots at Her Majesty’s Theatre, said Fierstein was like her mother. ‘I would not have done this show if it wasn’t for these gentlemen (Fierstein and Jerry Mitchell, the Kinky Boots director and choreographer),” she said.
